Signal display window

Signal display window is provided for visualisation of various signals produced by the event generation and link calculations. This window is activated when the user double-clicks on the relevant vector element describing various signals stored in the Results folder in the left hand side tree view of the workspace.

Three visualisation modes are available according to the option selected in the Display radio box:

  • Vector: this mode displays a time-intensity plot of the generated signal vector. Number of plotted vector points is limited to 1000 to avoid clogging of picture:

  • C.D.F: this mode allows to display the Cumulative Distribution Function of the generated signal (note that this function is calculated by analysing the entire data sample, not only the 1000 points displayed in Vector view):

  • Density: this mode allows to display the distribution density of the generated signal, i.e. a statistical histogram showing the square root of the number of given signal strength values (note that this function is calculated by analysing the entire data sample, not only the 1000 points displayed in Vector view):

Tip: the user may export the entire data sample contained in the signal vector by pressing the "Save" button. This will save the entire data into external text file, so that the signal data could be later imported and analysed by using other types of data analysis software (Excel, Matlab, etc).
